DSL-ueno

DLink DSL2640B ADSL2+

No special meaning. The name of network equipment is usually a mnemonic indicatig its function and location. Although in the past this device was named Da5id, a character from Snow Crash novel by Neal Stephenson.

Basically it serves as Network Bridge to the ADSL line, so the PPPoE client which really managed the WAN connection is behind it.

A special and good feature of this device is that the only DSL home router I found which implements the ADSL-MIB, RFC2662 via SNMP agent which allows to monitor the line quality and noise via SNMP.
